OUR LATEST PRESIDENT

Many people are questioning our voting system after the election of Donald Trump as our new president. Although Hillary Clinton was the clear winner of the popular vote, Donald Trump won the electoral vote resulting in his presidency.

After the election of Trump, there was countrywide fear and denouncement of Trump. Many celebrities and well-known politicians renounced the inauguration. Many refuse to live in fear and will do anything to protect their communities. Several organizations have made resisting, both physically and politically, a goal of theirs during Trump’s presidency. American citizens have made it clear that they are not happy by starting protests across the country. Most notably, women’s marches sprung up across the nation during January 21, the day after Trump’s inauguration.

Protests have even reached Worcester. Most recently, the people took to Worcester City Hall on January 31st before a city council meeting to demand that Worcester be made a sanctuary city in response to Trump’s recent actions on immigration.
